In 1989, Hans von Sonntag began his image-making career as a 22-year-old news cameraman, capturing the historic fall of the Berlin Wall. Over the following decades, he transformed into an award-winning film director within the advertising industry.
Today, Hans passionately focuses on pressing climate change and biodiversity loss issues. In his work, he explores the current state of humanity’s interaction with the natural world. He captures moments that, in part, contradict the conventional beauty standards of familiar genres such as landscape imagery. Hans firmly believes that exposed diversity brings out a hidden, deeper beauty and meaning, allowing for a better understanding of our interconnected, often dysfunctional coexistence.
